Fans submitted questions and Joe answered.

Here are his answers:

1. What kind of things do you do in your spare time when you aren't touring or when you have downtime on the road?
Hmm, in my spare time? I try to spend as much time as possible with my daughter. Beyond that, I like to play golf and relax as much as possible. Nowadays it seems to me that sleep grows more and more important every day.

2. I was just wondering who your influences were growing up before you became a professional singer?
My favorite singers are Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, Lefty Frizzell, Willie Nelson, and of course, my Dad. They all had a lot of influence on me.

3. What's your favorite hockey team?
The Predators are my favorite hockey team!

4. How old were you when you sang in front of an audience for the first time?
I was about 14 years old and we were at a family get-together where my uncle had a karaoke machine. Everyone was shocked I could carry a tune.

5. Joe, if you had to be on a desert island alone with one person, and you had to pick from George Jones, Patsy Cline, or Dolly Parton, who would it be?
That's a tough decision. I would want them all there, but if I had to choose one, it would be Dolly. I have always wanted to do a duet with her.

6. Have you had any life altering experiences that relate to the song "The Impossible"?
I personally have not had any experiences that relate to the song, but I have heard from a lot of people who have. I have met several people and received letters from people who have experienced situations very similar to the ones in the song.

7. Which cartoon or comic book character represents you the best?
Garfield - he is calm, cool, collected, and even a little lazy!

8. I would like to know which Country legend would you like to meet, dead or alive?
Meeting Merle Haggard would be the ultimate. I grew up listening to Haggard songs with my dad and I perform his songs all the time. Meeting him would be great.

9. I'd like to be a country singer too. Do you have any advice?
Don't give up on your dream. You may have to do other things in life, but always keep your dream within reach. Play wherever and whenever you can. The more people you play in front of, the better your odds of being heard by the right person.

10. What would you be doing if you weren't a country star?
I would go for the top...President of the United States! No, I would be playing music somewhere - it's what I love.

11. What album is in your cd player right now?
Currently, the Hank Williams, Jr. box set is in my CD player.

12. Were you a good kid? Or were you a troublemaker?
I was a fine mix of both!

13. Which of your videos was the most fun to make?
I have enjoyed making them all, but "Brokenheartsville" was my favorite. The shoot was laid back and relaxed and we had fun on the set.

14. You probably don't have much time to holiday, but when you do, where is your favourite place to vacation?
I love to ski in Vail, but I want to go to Europe and tour the old countries.

15. You always look so hot! Do you shop for your own clothes or does someone else purchase your wardrobe for you?
A little of both, I work with a stylist who shops for me and helps me decide what to wear for certain events, and then I shop for myself as well. It just depends on the event and the timing.

16. What was it like performing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry for your very first time?
It was an amazing experience - one that I will never forget. I love traditional country music, and the Opry is the home of that. The members of the Grand Ole Opry have paved the way for all of us newcomers and I only hope I can continue to carry on the tradition of country music that they have established over the last 76 years. Each time I step onto that stage, I am inspired to uphold their traditions.

17. As a parent, do you find it difficult to juggle your home and work schedule to make time for everything?
It is definitely hard to juggle it all, but my daughter is the most important thing in my life, and I try to make as much time as possible for her. It's difficult, but you have to find a balance and make it all work.

18. You are in such great shape! Do you find it hard to exercise and eat right while you are on the road?
Being on the road is a workout in itself, but I try to fit regular workouts into the schedule as often as possible -- whether it's in the hotel gym or just taking time before the show to go run. I also try to eat healthy, but if Waffle House is the only place open at 3AM, then Waffle House it is.

19. Who is your all time favourite actor?
I really like Christopher Walken, but I am a big Robert De Niro fan too. It's a toss-up between those two.

20. What's the most embarrassing or unusual thing that has happened to you during a performance?
Well it's pretty embarrassing when you forget the lyrics to one of your own songs. That has happened to me a couple of times.
